Duke Health Development and Alumni Affairs (DHDAA) has been named a 2026 High Performer by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy — one of just 51 organizations in the U.S. to earn this national distinction.

“This is a proud moment for our team,” said Stacy L. Waters, MBA, vice president and chief philanthropy officer for Duke Health. “This honor speaks to the extraordinary talent, dedication, and passion of our entire team. I’m so proud of what we have accomplished together and the difference we are making through philanthropy.”

The honor goes to healthcare philanthropy programs across North America whose fundraising results rank among the top 25 percent. The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy recognized DHDAA in three categories: overall revenue, overall productivity, and healthcare system revenue.

Fueled by unprecedented support from donors and volunteers, DHDAA achieved record-breaking fundraising in 2025-2026 with more than $324 million in philanthropic support — a defining moment for Duke Health and the largest fundraising year in its history.

The 2026 High Performer recognition reflects the collective efforts of donors, alumni, volunteers, faculty, staff, and development professionals who support the missions of Duke Health. Together, they help advance groundbreaking research, transform patient care, educate the next generation of health leaders, and improve health in communities across North Carolina and beyond.

“This achievement reflects the meaningful ways you and your team engage your community in advancing your organization’s mission and strategic priorities,” Alice Ayres, MBA, president and chief executive officer of the association, wrote in a letter to Waters announcing the honor. “That partnership helps strengthen the future of healthcare in the communities we serve, and the generosity you inspire is a powerful affirmation of your work and its impact.”

The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy is an international professional organization dedicated to development and fundraising professionals who work in healthcare.
